Eastern Associated Coal Company wanted to develop a comprehensive safety standard for all its mines and other operations. CEATH Company, and its partner consulting firm CORE/ROI, worked with the various mines and with the leadership of the company’s safety department to develop the standard. CEATH and its partners collected all procedures and processes in use within the company, clarified those processes, and ultimately created a safety manual that would become the standard throughout the company. The resulting manual and system was so well-regarded that, several years later, Eastern Associated Coal asked CEATH Company to revise the manual for a second printing to include new mines and updated procedures.
